What the Bangladeshi opener said after setting the record for the fastest two centuries
Bangladesh Under-19 team continued their impressive performance in Sri Lanka. The young tigers, who are leading the series, have yet again won today. Bangladesh team set a record by batting first in the fourth ODI today. The pressure of big runs seems to have finished the Sri Lankans! Bangladesh took a 3-1 lead in the series with a big win of 146 runs.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat
first in Colombo and scored 336 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted
50 overs. In reply, the Sri Lankans could not score more than 190 runs in 38
overs, losing all their wickets in 4 balls. The Sri Lankans were largely
disoriented by the batting of Tiger opener Jawad Abrar.
Jawad Abrar scored a century for Bangladesh in today's match. This is his second century in Youth ODIs after playing 8 matches. No other batsman has scored 2 centuries in fewer matches.
Abrar, who scored 113 runs off 115 balls, said in a video message, "I was able to score two centuries for the country in three matches. The team won for me, and I am happy that I contributed to the team's victory."
The young opener added, "Our next goal, InshaAllah, is the World Cup. We are a very balanced team in terms of batting, bowling and fielding."
We are optimistic that we will do something good, InshaAllah. We will play our best cricket as a team. If we can play to our potential, InshaAllah we will achieve something good in the World Cup.
